Статья раскрывает проблему определения «веса» страны на мировой арене. Рассмотрены различные методики оценки «мощи» стран и описана методика расчета общегеографического размера страны. Проведенный нами эксперимент является продолжением исследования по оценке географического размера стран в рамках постоянных границ в период с 1990 по 2011 год. Эксперимент охватил большинство стран мира (167 государств), кроме тех, для которых отсутствует надежная статистика, и все регионы Российской Федерации в период с 1996 по 2011 год. Он позволил провести не только межстрановое сравнение по ОГИР, но и сопоставить регионы Российской Федерации с другими странами.
The article reveals the problem of determining the "weight" of the country on the world stage. We considered various methods of assessment "power" countries and described the method of calculating the general geographic size of the country. This experiment is a continuation of studies to assess the geographical size of countries within the framework of permanent borders which was held in the period from 1990 to 2011. The experiment involved most of the world (167 countries), except those for which there is no reliable statistics, and all regions of the Russian Federation from 1996 to 2011. It is possible to make a comparison of countries OGIR and compare regions of the Russian Federation and other countries.
