Author Guidelines

We invite scientists, graduate students, doctoral students, applicants, young professionals to publish the results of scientific research.

The editorial staff of the journal cooperates with authors - university professors, researchers, graduate students, doctoral students and applicants for scientific degrees. The journal publishes materials in sections:

  • 1.6.11. Geology, prospecting, exploration and exploitation of oil and gas fields (technical sciences)
  • 1.6.12. Physical geography and biogeography, soil geography and landscape geochemistry (geographical sciences)
  • 1.6.13. Economic, social, political and recreational geography (geographical sciences)
  • 1.6.18. Atmospheric and climate sciences (physical and mathematical sciences)
  • 1.6.20. Geoinformatics, cartography (geographical sciences)
  • 1.6.21. Geoecology (geographical sciences)
  • 2.8.2. Technology of drilling and development of wells (technical sciences)
  • 2.8.4. Development and operation of oil and gas fields (technical sciences)

Author's original articles are accepted for consideration only if they meet the following requirements and are published after mandatory internal review and the decision of the editorial board in the order of receipt, taking into account the rubrication of the issue.

Rejection rate - 60%.

The authorship of an article is determined directly by the author. Authors not included in the authorship section are included in the "Acknowledgments" section of the article.

Expert opinion. Expert commissions and export control groups have been set up in all institutes, which draw up conclusions on the possibility of publishing an article in the open press and on passing export control.

License agreement for the right to use a scientific work in a journal and the telecommunications network "Internet" (License Agreement). The agreement should be drawn up in 2 copies, signed by the author(s) of the manuscript, signed by the Vice-Rector for scientific and research work of the NCFU (certify the signature in the Correspondence Processing and Control Department-1 building, room 225) and transfer 1 copy to the editorial office of the journal. The second copy remains with the author(s) of the manuscript.

The volume of the research article: 3000 - 4000 words. The volume of the review article: up to 6000 words. Rules for converting graphic images and formulas into words. One formula placed in the text is equivalent to 13 words, the off formula (put in a separate line) is equivalent to 26 words. The table is converted to words as 13 words + 6.5 words per table row. The number of words equivalent to a picture is determined from the size of the picture as follows: 300 words / (0.5x (figure aspect ratio)) + 40 words The article should be structured and include headings: introduction; research materials and methods; research results and their discussion; conclusion; acknowledgement (if necessary); references. The presentation of the material of the article should be clear, concise and consistent. Requirements for computer typing of the article: A4 format; size 14; Times New Roman font; line spacing 1.5 pt; pagination bottom center; margins: top - 2 cm, bottom - 2 cm, right - 2 cm, left - 1.5 cm; paragraph indentation 1.25 cm. It is necessary to distinguish between a hyphen (-) (for example, black and white, business plan) and a dash (-) (Alt + 0150) in the text. Sections and subsections of the article (if necessary) are numbered with Arabic numerals, highlighted in plain bold.

Information about the author(s) (in Russian and English) Information should include the following information: full name (in full), academic degree, academic title, position, place and address of work, Scopus ID, Researcher ID, email address and phone numbers (necessarily),

The article must contain the following design elements:

scientific specialty code;
type of article (scientific article, review article, editorial article, discussion article, personalities, editorial note, book review, article review, short message, etc.)
UDC index;
surname, name, patronymic of the author (authors);
Name;
annotation of the contents of the manuscript (200-250 words, should not repeat the title);
list of keywords or phrases (3–15)
 

References (formed in the order of mention in the article, and not alphabetically)

The presentation of the article's material should be clear, concise and consistent. The article should be structured and include the following sections: introduction; materials and research methods; research results and their discussion; conclusion; thanks, funding (if necessary); List of sources.

Design of drawings, formulas, tables.

Figures and tables are inserted into the text in the right place. References in the text to tables and figures are required. The editors are not responsible for the quality of drawings or photographs.

Design of drawings (graphs, diagrams):

each drawing is also provided in a separate file, in the highest possible resolution (*.jpeg, *.tiff format) or in a variable format (vector files *.ai, *.cdr, *.eps);
drawings should be designed taking into account the peculiarities of black and white printing (it is recommended to use various types of shading and patterns as fills, in graphs - different types of lines, different designs of points on which the graph is constructed);
Color and halftone drawings are not acceptable. Graph axes must have a name and units of measurement;
drawings are numbered at the bottom (Fig. 1. Title, Fig. 1. Title) and are made in a graphics editor with 14 point size, bold font, single line spacing. All inscriptions on the drawings must be readable.
Formulation of formulas.

Formulas are executed in the MathType formula editor program in 12 font, aligned to the center. Their numbers are placed using a tabulator in parentheses on the right edge.

Design of tables.

Tables must have a title. Tables are numbered at the top (Table 1, Table 1), aligned to the right and written in 14 point, bold font. The table name is written in 14 point type, aligned to the center of the table, in bold font, line spacing is single, below is a translation of the table name. The width of the table should be no more than 16 cm.

References.

The references are located at the end of the article. The part lists all sources (at least 20) to which the author refers in the article, with a complete bibliographic apparatus of the publication (in accordance with GOST R 7.0.5-2008). The author is responsible for the accuracy of the information and quotations given in his manuscript and the correctness of book titles in the list of references.

The bibliography must contain at least 50% of sources included in international databases and RSCI.

Links are indicated in square brackets.

 

The Editorial Board of the journal during the consideration of the article makes the verification of the material using the system of Antiplagiarism. The text similarity of more than 20% is considered to be unacceptable. In case of acknowledgement of suspicions on plagiarism or detection of the techniques, allowing to hide its presence, articles are not accepted for the further consideration. The authors are sent a refusal of consideration due to suspicion of plagiarism.

Author's articles submitted in violation of the requirements will not be considered and will not be returned.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscript is accepted if it has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the anonymity of reviewing.
